Introducing Crick Solar Farm

Crick Solar Farm is a 49.9MW project being developed by Voltalia UK Ltd (‘Voltalia’) located to the north and south of Kilsby Road, approximately 1km south-east of Kilsby in West Northamptonshire.

The planning application for Crick Solar Farm was submitted to West Northamptonshire Council in November 2022 (application reference. WND/2022/1084). 

Planning consent, subject to conditions, was granted by the Strategic Planning Committee on 18 June 2024.

Planning submission

The planning application for Crick Solar Farm was submitted to West Northamptonshire Council. It was validated in January 2023.

Kilsby Climate Action Festival

Voltalia attended the Kilsby Climate Action Festival and presented on the benefits and challenges of renewable energy.

Planning determination

The West Northamptonshire Council Strategic Planning Committee granted the project planning consent, with conditions, on 18 June 2024.

If you’re a community group or voluntary organisation local to Crick Solar Farm, you may be eligible for funding as part of our Community Benefit Fund.

We encourage applications from projects which:

  • Protect and/or enhance the local natural environment, in a sustainable way
  • Address climate change through long-term initiatives
  • Promote environmentally sustainable community facilities, activities and green spaces
  • Promote local skills, education and employment in the environmental and sustainability sector
